INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS

Hello and welcome to our information page for all schools seeking counselling support.

Our role as a child and family counsellors has involved working within many schools, and continue to do so. Offering therapeutic support to children aged 4 to 11 and teens up to 18 years old. Many have been referred via school or parent with presenting issues such as;

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Friendship struggles

  • Transition challenges

  • Bullying 

  • Diverse elements like a disability or mental health condition

  • Relationship and family problems

  • Transgender exploration

  • domestic abuse

  • sexual abuse

  • foster care

  • Bereavement 

  • and others...

It can be a difficult environment for children and find it challenging to learn. Finding the words to identify and label emotions and understand why can be tough with limited self expression.

Within the school settings we can offer a safe warming supportive space allowing exploration of those worries and identify needs to help them feel more settled. This can also involve members of the family who need support from family difficulties that may have arisen or difficulties in friendship groups.

  • working alongside both parents and the educational support team and teachers within schools, supporting all involved.

  • Supply our own creative materials and will openly communicate with you which would be appropriate to use in your setting.

  • Offer flexible times to work around the busy day to day running of the school.

  • Offering therapeutic support with teaching staff and children understanding and regulating emotions and other needs.

  • We have undertaken extensive training in Child Behaviour, and children with additional needs including children on the spectrum.

  • We have completed training and facilitated many families and friendships group work, circle times with whole classes within schools. Offering a safe space to explore individuals behaviours and learning awareness of each others emotions and needs.
