We are fully qualified highly experienced counsellor's supporting people through difficult times. The work involves offering counselling to individuals, adolescents, children and families.

The aim is to help anyway we can offering counselling in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire, in primary/secondary schools, and home visits too.

We can all feel overwhelmed and find life too much at times. I have been in a very dark place in my life myself and it can feel very isolating. I found it difficult to share with others in my family or friends for fear of judgements, opinions or causing distress to others. I found counselling a huge support for me and felt it offered me an outlet for everything and learnt so much about myself in the process.

The therapeutic space is valuable and supportive within a safe therapeutic working relationship to allow others to feel able to share and explore what maybe troubling them.

This can be for many reasons;

  • Anxiety

  • Social Isolation

  • Depression

  • Anger / behaviour issues

  • Family relationships

  • Abuse

  • Autism - OR now known as ASD / DSM-5

  • Self Harm

  • Trauma

  • Suicidal feelings

  • Phobias / Fears

  • Post-traumatic Stress (PTSD)

  • Bereavement

  • Carers

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Bullying

  • and I'm open to other elements that maybe challenging you

 We are qualified Integrative counsellors, which means we are trained in a number of different theoretical approaches to counselling. Using different approaches like;

  • talking therapies

  • creative

  • sensory play

  • systemic

  • music

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Minecraft Therapy

There is more information on the 'next step' page about what these involve.

Using different approaches to counselling we are able to be responsive to each individual adjusting my therapeutic approach accordingly.

Following professionally qualifying as an adult counsellor, Claire went on to gain additional training in working with children and young people;

  • I gained second Diploma in child counselling. I have spent two years working with children in primary schools with children's charity Place2Be.

  • During my time within Place2Be I also facilitated group work involving up to 10 children working with interactions, differences and emotions between each other.

  • Completed support for children in Time2Talk where they dropped in to share for a limited time either individually or in friendship groups about any worries, or issues raised.

  • I have since worked both privately and in local primary schools offering emotional support to children and young people for a number of years now.

  • I have supportive individuals and families

  • I have completed a Tavistock and Portman (NHS) postgraduate in child , adolescent and family mental multi-disciplinary systemic therapy..

  • I am currently completing my Masters in Psychology at University with hope to help child development towards clinical work in childrens mental health and diagnosis.

  • Clinically trained to offer Autism diagnosis assessment using the gold standard ADI-R and ADOS-2 for children and adults

We continue to have training and professional development to support our careful work and aim to be mindful, gentle and ethical in out approach at all times.

I have a little girl with Autism (6yr old) and Claire has helped so much in helping her deal with and understand her emotions. My daughter loved her straight away and always asked when we were going back :)
